Lifes little miracles

I still have to post something from this last survey, and I'll do that... soon.

Before that though, I figured I'd post this.

Getting into photography has had the benefit of forcing me to slow down and look at things, you look at a tree and try to find a good angle, you see a taillight and imagine what you can do with it. You pretty much just slow down and take in everything around you.

While looking through some pictures I took on this last week and making some fixes to em. I found a couple that were pictures of butterflies still in the cocoon and I looked at em for a second, and realized that metamorphosis is a seriously crazy idea.

Could you imagine being a scientist and making the observation that there are no baby butterflies. That simply begs the question, Where do butterflies come from? So you sit there trying to figure it out, then once you do, you go running to your little scientist buddy exclaiming..

"I found it, I found where butterflies come from"

"Where?"

"Well you see, caterpillars lock themselves up in a little room with no lights or food for a couple weeks, then they transform...

growing wings and antennae and buggy little eyes. Then when they're done, the break open their little room and fly away"
